I’ve got Bad Blood queued up on my Audible, but haven’t gotten to it yet. This article gives additional detail into the mind of the “millennial Madoff” Elizabeth Holmes, the criminal mastermind that raised nearly $1bn for her “breakthrough” (and fraudulent) medical sciences company Theranos. This is a short collection of anecdotes showing some of the last days of Theranos and a little glimpse into her psyche. She basically acts chipper and happy as if everything is normal as the company falls apart around her, indictments are piling up, and employees are running for the exit. She gets a husky named Balto to act as the turnaround symbol and he proceeds to crap all over the office. She blames reporters for the company’s failure and her PR team for not controlling it. Nevermind her product didn’t work and was never going to. “Is she just a young person who got in over her head? Is she a sociopath? Hustler or con-artist?” As always, I look forward to any movies about true crimes, especially when they star my girl J-Law, so this should be a good one.
